Menorca Horse Trail

185 kilometres of coastline in 20 sections around the island

The Camí de Cavalls is a historic path of around 185 kilometres that circles the whole of Menorca along its coastline. It is divided into 20 sections, waymarked as long-distance trail GR-223, and can be covered on foot, by mountain bike or on horseback. You don't have to walk it all: many visitors pick individual sections as day trips. This guide covers its history, how it's organised, when to go and which sections are easiest if you're staying in Maó.

Many can only be reached on foot and have no facilities, which keeps them quiet even in August. This guide covers the best of them, how to reach each one, why the sand is that colour and the one thing to check before you set off.

  • "Great attention to details"

The staff was amazing and our accommodation had two rooms with comfortable beds, a big living room, and bathrooms. It was spotlessly clean and very spacious. The breakfast was also great! You can see they have great attention to detail at Hostal Jume to make sure your stay is great in all aspects and ours was superb!

  • "A very relaxing stay in a comfortable, welcoming hotel"
Helpful staff, attractive uncluttered decor throughout, spacious bedroom with a very comfortable bed, great shower. Excellent location, near the centre and the harbour - both of which were very attractive.
